Carrot Dessert-Carrot Halwa

This inexpensive carrot dessert is very easy to prepare, called Gajar ka Halwa, a typical Indian dessert that is very sweet and has a taste reminiscent of dulce de leche. It is an ideal dessert to experience new recipes.


  • Carrots 1 kg, whole milk 1 liter, sugar 200 gr, ghee 60 gr and cardamom pods 10. Raisins, pistachios and crushed almonds to serve.

  • Grate the carrot very finite.
  • In a saucepan, stirring constantly, cook the carrot with the milk and cardamom over medium heat, for 25 minutes or until the milk has reduced by half and the carrot has softened.
  • Add the sugar and cook another 25/30 minutes until the milk has completely evaporated.
  • Add the ghee and saute for 5 minutes.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature with crushed pistachios, raisins, and almonds. Ready! To enjoy!
